Break Before Dinner

Here's my progress for the day so far. I would be more happy about how far I have gone but I have to "frog" stitch the Fleur-de-Lis. "Frog" stitching is my term for taking out a bunch of stitches. Ripit, ripit, ripit... Get it? Frog stitch.

Dinner was Grilled Cheese ala Joost. Our roommate made grilled cheese using some of his Dutch cheese. Very tasty.

I was just contacted by a magazine to see if they could use a couple of my photos in an upcoming issue. I don't know how much a "real" photographer would get for two 1/2 page photos in a magazine, but I'm happy with their offer. Go me!

I found this picture of us from 2002 when I [livejournal.com profile] hollyqueen and I were back in Kansas City. On a whim today I spent some time searching the web to find him. I think I did and I sent a message to see if it's true. Now I'm anxious for a response. Another lesson in waiting I suppose.

For those who don't know I'm on the left and he's on the right.

Faeries!

This weekend [livejournal.com profile] hollyqueen, [livejournal.com profile] cheesentoast and I went to the Faerieworld Festival down near Eugene Oregon. I've posted a few photos for your viewing pleasure. It was fun but a very long drive. If I go again my suggestion would be to go later in the day to avoid the crowds at the beginning.

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] neverwench did it again. My poor monitor.

Last Saturday I went to dinner at the Rheinlander with a few friends who I won't get to see as much since I'll be living in Seattle. Being the crazy guy I am I took the camera and snapped a few pictures. I love the room we used even though it's hard to eat with all the dead animals staring at you.

I've shredded and discarded so much stuff from my past. Usually when I move I keep the things I think I might use again. This time if I haven't touched it in a very long time it was tossed, and by tossed I mean put in a pile for Goodwill or to give to friends. Going through the old boxes wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. The only time I had to stop was when I found some photos of my Grandpa and me playing when I was 2-3 years old. I miss him very much.

Now I have to go haul a bunch of stuff off to the dumpster and get packing for my road trip to Cali.

Last week Stephanie ([livejournal.com profile] qt3_14159), Meg, Mo, Wren ([livejournal.com profile] hollyqueen) and I spent the weekend in Depoe Bay. It was great fun and very relaxing. I took a few pictures.

I spent most of the evening last night restoring and updating the photo gallery on my website. You can find pictures of our wedding, some of our vacations, and other stuff. If there's an image posted of you that you would like removed let me know and I'll probably remove it. >:)

I've also posted some essays I wrote for a class a few years ago. As I come across other writings I'll be posting them too.

Saturday [livejournal.com profile] hollyqueen and I took [livejournal.com profile] cheesentoast out for a picnic and a drive along the Old Columbia River Scenic Highway. Who wouldn't have a great time escorting two hotties through some beautiful scenery. I've posted a few pictures in my photo gallery. [livejournal.com profile] cheesentoast took a some pictures too so let's hope she posts hers soon.

There's a photo contest at OSCON again this year. To enter you have to post pictures to a Flikr account. So I went ahead and created an account and posted some of the picnic photos.
