This weekend I finally cut the last cord and turned off my Windows machine for good. Soon it will be going to a new home where I hope it has a long and happy life. The only computers I have left are percy, my server, and tornassuk, my Apple PowerBook. Another step towards simplifying my life completed.

You can't seriously propose to run a server with Windows? My main system is a Mac, so I'm Steve Jobs' bitch. Get it right. :P

My favorite anime of all time includes Neon Genesis Evangelion, Vampire Hunter D (original and Bloodlust) and Giant Robo has an even more special place in my heart.

Giant Robo rocks!

My company is a Microsoft shop up and down the line, we're even moving to SQL Server 2005.

Our apps are all developed via Microsoft Visual Studio and Sharepoint, etc. etc.

Yeah, it can be done.

I wouldn't do it if I was a bank, but we're a publishing company. We're not really transaction heavy.

I need to find Giant Robo. I've only seen one or two episodes. It holds a special place in my heart from watching Johnny Socko as a kid.

Curse you popfiend! Dangling a shiny thing in front of me when I'm already over my fun budget and there's still Norwescon and stuff to do this month... Gah!

For work, all servers are M$.

It pays the bills. :)

For home/play I'm working on a linux box... I just like the term "Penguin Hugger"

I could say it all day long... "Penguin Hugger!" "Penguin Hugger!" "Penguin Hugger!" "Penguin Hugger!" "Penguin Hugger!" "Penguin Hugger!" "Penguin Hugger!" "Penguin Hugger!" "Penguin Hugger!"

Just gives me a warm fuzzy... :)
