Never-ending Blues

charlie_bear is in town for a visit and kyshrii's birthday bash at the Mt. Angel Oktoberfest. I want to be in a happy, joyful mood. I really do! The world just isn't co-operating lately.

The first bit of news I hear this morning is that Johnny Cash has passed away, followed quickly by the news of John Ritter also dying. One gave us music and the other laughter. Two things we could always use.

I knew the little passion flower that cheesentoast gave me wouldn't last through the morning, but it looked so sad sitting there curled up in a wilted ball.

We found out that hollyqueen's brother is in the hospital and we have to wait through the day to find out any more information. Like her, I hate the waiting but I don't know what else we can do with such little information and at this distance.

And now I just found out that Harold Landers, WA0BRU, died yesterday. Harold was the president of OTVARC, my Amateur Radio Club, and while I'm not very active he always would stop and talk to me when I was able to join events. Quick with a smile and always full of bad jokes and puns, I'm going to miss him. I need to get a card for Julie, KD7GQW, and send it out today.

Can someone send me some good news? Please?
