Fun Filled Saturday
Sep. 20th, 2003 07:46 pmQuite a bit of fun today. First, we picked up cheesentoast and trotted off to the Beaverton Farmers Market.
hollyqueen and
cheesentoast wanted to browse the many booths and vendors which was cool. I was there because Shanghaied on the Willamette were playing. I found their CD at our local library a couple of years ago and I've been trying to catch a live show ever since. To be fair I was busy checking out all the fresh fruit, vegetables, cheeses and breads that were for sale too. I found Johnathan apples which are my favorites and seem to be uncommon in this area. So I'm a happy bear.
After we had checked out all the market had to offer we went to sit in the grass and listen to the band. They played a few of my favorites from their CDs and some songs I hadn't heard before. cheesentoast decided to get up and get more vegetables. When she came back I saw her stop by the table full of CDs the band had for sale. With a little over a month until my birthday I decided to hide my head so if she bought something it would be a nice surprise.
hollyqueen was nice enough to canoodle with me until cheesentoasts return so I wouldn't see anything.
Being such a bundle of joy cheesentoast couldn't wait and presented me with Tasting the Salt Air, which is the bands second CD. As I beamed with joy and admired my treasure she asked if I had a favorite song on that wasn't on the CD. I replied that I have favorite songs on both of their CDs, and then she handed me Weighing Anchor, which is the band's first release. Double joy!!!
Good times... Bad times... I'm truly one blessed bear.
