Today marks one year since [livejournal.com profile] publius_ovidius joined [livejournal.com profile] hollyqueen and I in matrimony. The last year has been full of ups and downs. Being with Wren has made the good times better and the bad times bearable. I couldn't have made it without you, my love.

Here's to us and many more years to come!

That's what I just had. We start off the weekend with a surprise trip to Bonneville Hot Springs Resort. Our room had a hot tub on the balcony that was filled with water from the hot springs. That's decadance for you. Sitting there in the hot bubbly water while it's raining and blowing then get up and go lay down in the king size bed.

Thanks to a scheduling mistake we thought we would have to change rooms and be in one without a spa on Saturday night. So during the day we went for a bit of exploring in the Columbia Gorge. One place we visited was the Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center Museum. I found it very interesting how the museum covered how the gorge changed and the Columbia river provided an important route for trade and exploration. If you're in to Catholic bling they have the worlds larges rosary collection. There were so many the ones in back were blocked by the ones in front.

When we got back to the resort we found out that there had been some cancellations during the day so we were able to stay in our room. Silly people cancelling their trip just because of a little rain. I've been in enough water in the past few days I won't need a bath for weeks.

This morning we drove back to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] loree and [livejournal.com profile] walbourn for brunch and comedy before they drove home from Orycon. I don't think we came close to being asked to leave the restaurant but it was good fun.

Tonight we had dinner at The Melting Pot. I'm not going to say much about that because it was time for the two of us. Once dinner was over we decided that since the first anniversary gift is paper we should go to Powell's City of Books to get presents for each other. Like we really needed a reason to go to Powell's...

As I said, a great weekend.
