Fun With BoA and The Mac Store

Now that I'm working again I decided to treat hollyqueen and I to some new geek toys. She got a new video card and flat-screen LCD monitor and I picked up 2GB of RAM for Tornassuk. Rawr!

The helpful sales guy at The Mac Store charged my card an then ran into the back to pick up my RAM. Before he had gotten 2 feet away my phone rings and it's my bank calling me to verify that I made the purchase and that my card hadn't been stolen. That was nice of them.

At home I tried to install the RAM but the small Phillips screwdriver I have doesn't fit in the screws on the back of Tornassuk. So I called the Mac store back and found out that it would cost me $30 to have them install the RAM. Sure it was $30 I didn't need to spend but considering I would have bought the screwdriver for one use I just went back to the store. The tech who helped me made the switch in just a few minutes and then showed me a few tricks that I didn't know. When it came time to settle the bill he asked if I had a use for the 512MB stick we had removed. Not having one I said they could keep it if someone could use it and he decided it was a fair trade so they didn't charge me for the installation. Guess who's going to get most of my business now? Not only are they less crowded than the Apple store they've always been very friendly the prices are cheaper. Good job guys.
