2 + 2 = 5

Earlier today fallenpegasus posted about seam carving images. I read the paper but was reminded once again about some shortcomings in my education and skills. You see, I was expelled from college and never received an education.

Now that’s not to say I can’t do my job. I have several years of practical experience and skills as a developer and I’m a damn fine one if I say so myself. I just don’t have the skills to read a paper like that and understand the mathematics it contains. There’s probably a lot of algorithms I could use more effectively too.

I know I can learn the mathematics. I just need to find someone who wouldn’t mind discussing the subject or giving me a bit of tutoring. Someone who could check my work would also be useful.
