Damn!

First, I talked to Mom last night. She was doing well. They didn't find anything but she'll be going back for more testing next week.

Second, ragnorokt's gift arrived. Fruit cake at last! I know a lot of people have a negative opinion of fruit cake but that's because they've only been exposed to the brick full of garbage that's sold in stores. A well made fruit cake is a thing of joy and wonder.

Finally, my PowerBook crashed and now the recovery tools on the install DVD will not detect the hard drive. I lost everything. Music, movies, photos, documents, coding projects... "But hollyking, you're tech savvy. You know you should back everything up." I was! It crashed in the middle of a back up. GAH!

My hope is that I've just toasted the drive so I can get a replacement and get it up and running cheaply. Does anyone in the Seattle area have TORX screwdrivers? In particular the T8 and T9 size? This comes at a bad time because I don't have any spare cash to pay for tools or a new drive and I was backing up the system in preparation of selling it.
