Free wifi in Charlotte?

So Seattle has no free wifi. Dulles in Washington DC has no free wifi. Atlanta has no free wifi. Charlotte has... Free wifi!?!!!?! This was the last place I expected to find it.

I find it interesting that many smaller airports have free WiFi, but the majors don't.

Same goes for hotels. Alot of the top-end hotels I stay in charge for internet access, but the middling ones don't.

I was talking with tithonium on the ride home last night and we figured it was because the major airports, and probably hotels, had enough traffic willing to pay for the wifi access.
