This thing is just too cool for words. I so want one, but I think I would prefer it made out of brass. You can order the plans from Clayton Boyer's website.
It's not the wood, although I would certainly choose different stains as I'm more fond of darker colors. It's the lack of brass. :)
The problem is I could fabricate wood, with the tools and space, I don't know anything about casting. However, the Center for Wooden Boats does offer a bronze casting class...
If I could find gears that are correct. I don't know enough about making movements with gears yet. It is something I want to learn. I picked up a book on gearing at Magus books this past weekend. :)
