While packing I found my high school commencement program. With a fresh list of names I went to see who I could find on Facebook. The first one I found (DT) has a Ph.D. in Statistics and the next one (JM) has a Masters in Electrical Engineering. While yours truly was expelled and was failing even before that.

Great ego boost for the evening...

You can't compare yourself with someone who got a PhD in statistics. I'm sure he's a very nice person, but I'm also fairly sure he's an alien. Unless it's a she. Then she's an alien.

It's not a competition! Everyone's circumstances are different. I would NEVER compare myself to ANYONE I went to high school with, especially the ones I never talked to or heard from after graduation.

Dude- I went to high school with a guy who has his own special effects business and was the head of special effects for Star Strek: First Contact.

I still don't have any sort of degree and I'm not sure when/if I'll manage it. You and I do alright - particularly when the economy is better. We have great friends and know how to have fun - which is at least as important as anything else.

Knowing quite a few people with an MS, PhD, MD, JD, DO...I'm really not impressed. My ex is an MD, JD. He's a social retard that had to work A LOT harder than everyone else, because he really wasn't up to the programs.

You are who you are: a decent and caring person with a work ethic and a few eccentric hobbies. Stay that way!
