For those that didn't know I write reviews for a website run by a couple of friends. One day while Spudd was out of town, ShadowMatt and I decided to pull a joke and created eSpuddCHICK. I wrote a bit about the PowerPuff Girls that you should read so you can understand the rest of this post. Go on! Read it!

So months later, heck maybe even a year I forget how long ago we did this, I get an email from a "concerned reader." Here, you read it, I can't give the message a decent explanation. I've added my comments in bold italics below.

Subject: Your Powerpuff Girls Page

I just saw your Powerpuff Girls page on eSpudd Chick, and as a die-hard Powerpuff fan, I must say this page isn't exactly true. What's been written sounds like it came from one of the show's villains, Femme Fatale.

Holy HTML, Batman! You mean someone actually read something I posted! Not one comment on any of the serious reviews or other work I've done. No, just one lonely reply to the quickly done joke. Sigh, guess that Pulitzer will be a long time coming.

Isn't exactly true? Hell, it's not even close to being true. Did you read any of the other eSpuddCHICK pages? Thanks, you've confirmed that I hit the mark I was aiming for. Femme Fatale is exactly who I was trying to emulate.

First off, the description of the show irks me. "You knew some dreadful MAN had to be involved, didn't you?" Sorry for being blunt, but, DUH. Everyone on this Earth is here because of a man. "Like any man had anything to do with children after getting his rocks off." Well, I guess the webmaster/mistress is quite biased against fathers. My father and millions of other fathers are quite devoted to their children, and the Professor is no different. He has shown love and devotion to his girls in many an episode, and the Girls return his love tenfold. "Like any man he screwed up the recipe and added Chemical X." If you knew anything about The Powerpuff Girls, or just watched the episode "Mr. Mojo's Rising," you would know it wasn't the Professor's fault. His lab assistant, a monkey named Jojo, pushed him while he was creating the perfect girl formula. This caused him to smash into a beaker of Chemical X, thus creating the Powerpuff Girls. "The three sisters, Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup, have ultra-super powers that they use to defend Womynkind from the forces of Evil." Wrong. The Girls don't just defend WomAnkind. They've defended their Mayor, who is a man, the Professor, and have even felt sympathy for their enemy, Mojo Jojo. In fact, he's part of the reason they were created.

First, the article was posted by me, HollyKing, not by ShadowMatt our esteemed webmaster. Second, I wouldn't call the drunk responsible for my birth a father and I'm still holding out hope it was the milkman. That out of the way, I know that there are hundreds of devoted fathers around the world. This wasn't about them, was it?

Sure, they're always blaming it on the monkey.

The introduction is what mainly irks me, but your descriptions of the Girls are unaccurate as well. The Girls are not oldest, middle, youngest. They were all created at the same time and are all five years old. Sure, they may act older than they really are, but that doesn't make them the oldest or youngest sibling. Bubbles is also being described as "victim" of being cute. As a HUGE Bubbles fan, this really ticks me off. Bubbles wasn't "victim" to anything. She's just acting like a normal five-year old girl. Ponies and flowers don't hold women back from discovering their full potential, either. At least, it hasn't been proved. Ever seen a woman veternarian who hates ponies? "Let's just hope she can follow the example of her older sisters and become a real womyn." Bubbles IS a woman. Watch "Bubblevicious" and you'll see what I mean. She's not supposed to be a woman, she's supposed to be a little girl, for God's sake.

Want to know a secret? Are you still reading this? Hi Mom! Bubbles is my favorite too.

Not trying to be rude or anything, but the Powerpuff Girls aren't meant to spread "Girl Power." That died with the Spice Girls, and this is spoken from a former Spice Girl fan. The Powerpuff Girls aren't meant to teach values that one gender is better than another. I'm sure even a hardcore feminist would be appaled by reading your descriptions if she was a Powerpuff Girls fan.

The fact that you would even claim to be a former Spice Girl fan is apalling to me. What next, you're going to tell me you've developed a craving for the A*Teens? What is this world coming to?

Thank you for taking your time to read this letter.

No, thank you! You didn't get my joke, but at least you read my post. Not that you'll come back and read my reply.
