Music is an Essential
Oct. 10th, 2006 07:10 pmI just picked up a pair of tickets to attend the Seattle Choral Company's performance of Mozart's Messiah (K. 572). The blurb for the concert says:
Forty-years after its Dublin premiere, Handel's Messiah was placed in the hands of Mozart in order to present it before a Viennese audience of his day. With the greatest respect for Handel's craftsmanship and genius, Mozart added his own touches, intensifying Handel's original with an enriched orchestration that is unmistakeably Mozart.
hollyqueen isn't a classical music fan so I'm looking for someone to join me for the evening. I would like to go out for dinner, attend the performance and then have coffee or drinks to discuss the performance and our opinions of the music. The performance is on December 9th at 7:30pm on the University of Washington campus.
So, do you want to be my concert buddy?
