Boxer briefs...the best of both worlds.

For hiking though...seriously consider just wearing swim trunks. Netting to hold things in place, breathable fabric that dries quickly. Very lightweight.

I'll keep that in mind, but I need more than just underwear. Hiking is no fun when wet and cold.
